The Perfect Day to "Do the Zoo"

This weekend's weather is just glorious! With Greg hunting, Luke and I were on our own to find something fun to do. So we put our Zoo membership to good use!

The bears are Luke's favorite...

I had to take advantage of all picture ops.

This kid is such a monkey - he had to climb on EVERYthing!

Normally, when we go to the Zoo, all of the big cats are sleeping. But not today. This is Kali, the White Tiger.

She was beautiful.

This is a White-Handed Gibbon. He was hilarious - swinging through the trees and then

landing on his stump in front of the window to look at all the kids.

Luke was teasing him with Woofie. It's a good thing the glass was there because otherwise, Woofie would have been snatched from Luke's hands. I wish I had gotten a video of this hilarous interaction between two monkeys! ;-)

This was the Gibbons' cage mate, but he didn't do much. He just hung there like this...

The gorilla.

And this is the new baby chimp, George. Isn't he sweet. He was also putting on quite a little show for us.

We were sad that the Bird show is closed for the season. And so were the Butterflies. But it was still a great day to get out. We didn't even make it around to the reptiles, so I guess next time we will start there.

Holy smokes, two posts in two days! Looks like the Zoo was fun. I'm jealous. I love the zoo. Even at 26.
