Thanksgiving 2006 Pictures

Here are some pictures from Thanksgiving. I had Thanksgiving here for my side of the family (but most of the family could not come). And then we went to Asheville the next day for the Tanner side of the family. Best part about Thanksgiving? The sweet potato casserole! Yum! (Thanks, Pa!!)

The Spread...

I think this was a "where is your belly button" shot...

At Joy's house with her dog, Amber and cat, Ziggy...

This is Joy's roommate's cat, Sessa. She was a very sweet cat and was so patient with Luke...

This Thanksgiving, we were most thankful for Luke and his precious personality. He's going to be a fun kid!!

I've been a terrible Blogger

Sorry it's been so long since we posted. I have been SOOO incredibly busy the last couple of months that I can barely think straight. My full-time job is crazy right now - our really busy time is 4th quarter. And of course my part-time job is crazy now too -- everybody wants to buy Avon right now before Christmas. And as if that isn't enough to keep me busy, then also I have to try to find time to clean, decorate, bake, buy gifts and get in the Christmas spirit.

I'll try to catch everyone up over the next couple of days. Luke has grown into such a little boy - he's a full-fledged toddler! He just had his 18-month check-up. He was 33 inches long, which is the 75th percentile for height. And he weighed 26 pounds, which is the 50th percentile for weight. He is doing so well and always amazes me at how smart he is. He knows many body parts. He can point to his ear, nose, mouth, hair, toes, hands, etc. But don't ask him where his belly button is unless you want him to find yours too. And I accidentally created a monster one day when I showed him the fuzz that the sock left between his toes. Now everytime we change a diaper, we have to check for toe jam. (It's the funniest thing to watch - he's so serious about it too). He also knows many animal sounds: "woof woof", "quack quack", "mmmm" for moo, "rar" for what a bear says. My favorite is what a kitty cat says which comes out more like "mau" than "meow." And he says it everytime he sees a cat, which at our house is pretty often. He also knows what sound a car makes and a fire truck and a train. "Choo choo" is probably the cutest sound he makes. Another favorite of mine is to ask him what Elmo says. If you ever watch Sesame Street (which I can't imagine that you do unless you have small children), Elmo has a cute little theme song, "La-la-le-la La-la-le-la It's Elmo's world." And so I sing that to him occassionally because he just loves Elmo. Well if I ask him what Elmo says, he'll say "La la la" in his precious little voice. It's adorable.

Oh, and we've determined with certainty that football is his favorite sport. Even if you are just flipping through the channels quickly, if he sees a football game or even just someone wearing a helmet, he points to the tv and yells "ball" which really sounds more like "baw." So cute. We even taught him a touchdown dance. Another favorite of his right now is books. He loves books - all kinds of books. He loves to read and flip the pages himself but also loves to bring you a book to read to him. He's been known to fall asleep to many a story before bedtime.

And the kid can dance! Seriously!
So I'll get some updated pictures on here in the next couple of days. And one day soon I'm going to try to figure out how to put video on the Blog as well.
So stay tuned!!

Happy New Year!!!
