New Truck and Drive-In

If you didn't know already, Greg recently purchased a landscaping business. This is in addition to the architectural and landscape lighting business that he's part owner in. Anyway, he needed a new truck (well, it's new to him - it's actually a 2000 Toyota Tundra).

So here is Luke in the new truck. He doesn't look too impressed.

He's got a few years til he grows into it....

And here's the reaction we got after we told him that he couldn't drive for 15 more years... (click on the picture to enlarge)..

So this Saturday, we loaded up the truck and took it to the Drive In Theatre with our friends Jennifer and Tim to see the movie 'Cars.'

Luke was such a good little boy! And he had the best seat in the house. We took his car seat out of the truck and that's where he ate his dinner and then fell asleep there watching the movie.

And now for the really good news.... Jennifer and Tim just got engaged!!! Yay!! Congratulations! ('bout time, y'all!!)

Fun at the Pool

This was Luke's first trip to the pool. We just walked down to our neighborhood pool around 6-ish, which was great because it wasn't as hot and the best part - there was no one else there.

Then we put him in his float... (Yes, I know the float is pink, but it was the ONLY one that Target had. And I really wanted a float with the sunshade.)

Then Greg gave him a mohawk...

Here he is splashing in the water...

Stylin... (with sweet potatoes all over his face)....

Our Back Yard Friends

Greg and I love to watch the birds that visit the feeder on our back deck. And occasionally we have other critters that visit us on the back deck.
Here are some pictures we've taken...

He was cute til he started this number.... And once the blue bird saw him trying to get to the food, they had words. The blue bird kept trying to dive bomb him, and the squirrel was chirping right back. It was pretty funny. The cats were going nuts!!

Greg Turns 30!!

My, my! The Big 3-0 !!! Though, it didn't even seem to faze him at all. He took it in stride, unlike me, who will probably have a nervous breakdown when September comes around.

Anyway, I threw him a "surprise" party last Saturday (the day of his birthday). It wasn't very much of a surprise, though. He saw me making a LOT of food and wondered what I was even doing in the kitchen. Oh well. It was still a lot of fun.

Here are some pictures...

The boys put up the "party" tent (that never got used)...

Laura and Caleb...

Ben and the Triplets... Josh, Kaitlin and Jack...

Here's Cindy blowing bubbles for her Triplets...

Here are the other set of Triplets... Brandon and Sunny's ...

Here's Luke playing with Kaitlin... if you'll notice, she's actually IN the toy box...

Luke is 11 months old!!

Wow! Only one month left until we hit the big one year mark!! He's such a big boy! And he's into everything. He's "cruising" around, which means he pulls up to standing and then moves around while holding onto things, such as the couch or the cabinets.

Here he is getting into the Tupperware cabinet...

This is his favorite thing to do... get into the kitchen cabinets...

What a stinker... after I say "no", he just smiles at me.... he thinks it's funny!

And he's learned how to make "fish faces."

He also loves to look out the window into the backyard...

And the big thing right now is to point at everything!

What a cutie!!

A Trip to the Zoo

It was Luke's first trip to the Zoo (as well as Mommy and Daddy's first trip). I am embarassed to say that we've lived in Knoxville for 8 years now and we'd never been to the Knoxville Zoo. Of course - now we have a very good reason to go. And Luke loved it. He had such a good time watching all the people and the animals. His favorite part was the Bird Show where there were hawks and owls flying around over our heads.

Here are some pictures from the fun day....
Click on the pictures to enlarge; Right-click to save them to your computer.

Check out his shirt... I picked it out special for wearing to the Zoo. It says "Lion and Friends"

Here he is watching the prairie dogs....

Here we are in front of the camels... (ignore the bad expressions and bad hair day)...
You can see him holding the stuffed Prairie Dog we just bought him.

Giraffes!

Zebras!

Of course Greg had to get their picture made in front of this Range Rover... (correction - It is not a Range Rover - Greg says it is an old LAND Rover, excuse me!!!)

And my personal favorite... the adorable Meer Kats! If Greg would have let me, I would've grabbed one and brought him home with me.
They were such hams for the cameras....

I love this picture... I took it of Ben and Cindy's triplets as they are watching the gorilla...

Here Kitty, Kitty, Kitty....

Zoom is a wonderful thing...

I love this gorgeous snow leopard, but I hate that it's behind a chain-link fence....

Here's Luke watching the Bird Show....

All in all, it was a great day!! The first trip to the Zoo was a success!!
