Pictures of Luke with Family

In case you were wondering why there aren't many pictures of family members on here, there is a reason for that. It was my intention to keep this Blog about Luke and only Luke. The purpose of the Blog is to watch how Luke is growing.
I thought that if I didn't include any pictures of family members on the Blog, then certain family members would not get their feelings hurt because another family member might have had more pictures on there than them. Well, it seems that by trying not to discriminate, I have hurt feelings regardless.
So I will post pictures of Luke with various family members here... all at different times throughout the first year of his life...Please enjoy.

Disclaimer... please don't get offended if someone else has more pictures than you or if your picture was not posted at all, or even if you don't like the picture that I put on here. Remember - it's not about you... it's about Luke! Thank you for understanding.

His First Oreo...

What a mess... We let him have his first Oreo. I know, that was a mistake. We learned our lesson, okay? But he got so mad when he saw us eating a cookie in front of him. He HAD to have one too. So we learned two lessons -- One, don't eat cookies in front of Luke and Two, don't give Luke a whole chocolate cookie!!

Gross!!!

And yes, we went straight for the bath after this!!

Our Little Comedian

What a goofball...

Look at that face... such mischief!

At least he likes to share his food...

On a hot summer day we converted two table toys into water tables. Luke had a blast playing in the water...

By the time we were done, we were pretty wet. Of course, it didn't help that Greg was pouring water on him...

Fun at the Park....

It's not always sunshine and roses....

This kid may have been born to sing because he's got some lungs on him - has since the day he was born, so much so that we used to call him "our little pterodactyl."

Here's a photo tribute to those lungs....

Sure, it's funny when you see him screaming in pictures. Not so fun when it's bloody murder right in your ear! =)

He's cruising right along...

Well, I've told you for a while now that Luke is 'cruising,' which means he's walking along the furniture and the cabinets and he's pushing stuff around - his high chair, his table toys, his walker, anything that will move. Maybe he's going to be a mover when he grows up.

Trying to push the table...

"Ahh, so this is where you keep all the food..."

Luke loves the walker and he loves being outside. So one night we took the walker out on the driveway to play. We need to do that more often! Such fun!

Happy 1st Birthday, Luke!!

One full year has flown by since the day Luke was born. I still remember it like it was yesterday - of course, 14 hours in labor is not something one soon forgets. =)

Here are the current stats:

June 26, 2006 - 22lbs 3oz, 29-3/4 in long;
Both his weight and length were in the 50th percentile, but his head circumference was in the 70th percentile. (big brain) =)

June 22, 2005 - 8lbs 6oz, 20-1/2 in long (We've come a long way)!

Anyway, we had his 1st birthday party at our house and just invited the family over - nothing huge. We bought the BBQ from Buddy's, and we made all the fixins ourselves. I decorated in a "Construction" theme and Luke wore a Bob the Builder outfit. He was so cute!
I'll only post a few of the pictures here, even though I took probably 150 or more. (Thank God for digital)!!

Here we are opening presents. I was pretty sure Luke wouldn't know what to do with a gift. And he confirmed my suspicions - all he wanted to do was play with (and eat!) the paper.

One of his gifts was a Radio Flyer Rocket Ship (thanks Grandpa Brian).

Here we are trying to get a picture with the cake -- as soon as Luke saw it, he wanted to grab it. Apparently Mommy is not fast enough - he still managed to rip off an edge of the icing.

"Mmm... Chocolate cake!!!"

Yay! I love birthdays!!!

And this is my new favorite picture... I don't know why - it looks like he's rolling his eyes at me, so I shouldn't like it at all. But I still think it's cute.

New Truck and Drive-In

If you didn't know already, Greg recently purchased a landscaping business. This is in addition to the architectural and landscape lighting business that he's part owner in. Anyway, he needed a new truck (well, it's new to him - it's actually a 2000 Toyota Tundra).

So here is Luke in the new truck. He doesn't look too impressed.

He's got a few years til he grows into it....

And here's the reaction we got after we told him that he couldn't drive for 15 more years... (click on the picture to enlarge)..

So this Saturday, we loaded up the truck and took it to the Drive In Theatre with our friends Jennifer and Tim to see the movie 'Cars.'

Luke was such a good little boy! And he had the best seat in the house. We took his car seat out of the truck and that's where he ate his dinner and then fell asleep there watching the movie.

And now for the really good news.... Jennifer and Tim just got engaged!!! Yay!! Congratulations! ('bout time, y'all!!)
