Fun with the Little Guy

The "little guy" is growing so fast -- we're going to have to start calling him the "big guy." But there's nothing new to report... just more of the same. Those teeth are really coming in now. And he really wants to crawl - he wants to go places, but he hasn't quite figured it out how to get those knees under him. He can scoot where he wants to go, though.

Here are some new pictures we took over the last week...

Here we were playing before bed one night... He kept blowing bubbles with his mouth so everytime I took a picture, he had this funny look on his face. And as you can see in the background, we were watching American Idol. (Go Taylor)!

I am very proud of my new yard sale find... this table toy for Luke. He just loves it. He squeals in delight because he can stand up and play with it. (Someone, of course, has to sit behind him to catch him when he falls, though).

Pumpkin loves his new toy too....

Here he is in the highchair before dinner. He sure does love these Puffs! The funniest thing, though, is how they stick to his hands, face, clothes, etc. He's doing really well trying to feed himself.

We were cracking up at him because no only does he have the Puffs stuck everywhere, but he's babbling the whole time he's eating them. We haven't taugh him yet how to chew with your mouth closed.

This was my favorite picture.... I guarantee he was talking while he was chewing, hence the funny face....

Finally, here are the teeth. You can see them really good in this picture!
(Just look at those gorgeous blue eyes)!

There are more pictures, but I'll save them for later this week. I'm tired and going to bed now.

Luke is 8 months old!

Luke turned 8 months old last week. He's making so much progress! The last two weeks have been full of 'firsts.' Luke started saying his first word -- "dada." (Does that really count... it's not an actual word, but whatever. No, I'm not bitter at all - I only carried him for nine months and then breastfed him for six - but sure, say dada - whatever!) And he's getting his first two teeth - his two bottom front teeth are both coming in at the same time. I kept trying to take a picture of the teeth, but they are very hard to see, so you'll just have to take my word for it. And they are sharp too!!!

Here he is trying to figure out the sippy cup - he's not sure which side is up...

Here he is playing with a new toy... and it has a steering wheel! Watch him try to put the whole thing in his mouth... And of course nosy Miss Pumpkin is very close by...

Trying to capture those new teeth on film... not so easy!

He's not crawling yet, but he's so close. He's trying so hard to move around. One day soon he's going to figure it out. And when he does, boy, are we in trouble!!!

And I just love this picture... he loves this teddy bear!! (It's the one Greg and I made for him at Build A Bear, and we put a giggle sound in it).

And finally, we took these pictures tonight... Luke was too tired to even finish his dinner. He fell asleep in his high chair...

Luke's First Real Snow!!

And I don't think he liked it very much...

Just look at that face he's making....

But Greg got him smiling...

Here are some more recent photos of the little goofball... He's so funny - and quite the talker!!

And this is so funny.... he sleeps with this butt in the air....

And finally, he loves his aquarium....

A Day at the Park!

Today we met our friends Matt and Laura down at the park for some fun with the kids. It was Luke's first time in a real swing. Here are some pictures:

"Hey -- who's that kid over there?"

"The other kid" is David, who is 13 months old:

Greg took Luke for a ride down the slide:

Here are some more pictures we've taken of the little guy recently:

All bundled up and ready to go...

Watching TV with Daddy... I think it was 'American Idol.'

And here he is talking to Tim Cline... Luke must have been telling him a joke he heard at school.
